Katie Lazo

Katie Lazo is an artist, writer, and educator based in Southern California, whose work spans animation, comics, and visual storytelling.

Katie received a BFA in Illustration, with a minor in Entertainment Arts from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.

She has professionally worked in the animation industry for over a decade, and is a member of the animation union (Local 839 IATSE), contributing to production studios such as Warner Bros., Titmouse, and ShadowMachine. She has also collaborated with Webtoon as a storyboard artist for vertical-format comics.

In addition to her studio work, Katie creates original projects across animation, comics, and illustration. She regularly shares the development of these projects through her social media platforms and Patreon, Katie Catacombs, where she documents her creative process.

Katie currently teaches as an adjunct professor, where she works with emerging artists in illustration, animation, and visual storytelling.

Outside of the studio and classroom, Katie enjoys hiking Southern California’s parks with her very large puppy and her partner. In the evenings, they unwind with horror movies and spooky video games.
